Work Experience Co-Ordinator

Hours: 37 hours per week / 40 weeks per year

Salary: TBC

Newbury College is seeking a dynamic and empathetic Work Experience Coordinator to join our Foundation Learning Department. This vital role supports learners aged 16–25 with a range of educational needs, helping them access tailored work placements that build confidence, independence, and employability. You will need to be supportive, understanding and proactive to excel in this role.

Duties include:

• Interpret and apply EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and vocational profiles.

• Use prior and ongoing assessments to tailor job coaching and support strategies.

• Plan, prepare, and secure meaningful work placements including:

  -  Work trials

  - Work experience

  - Industrial placements

  - Supported apprenticeships

• Assist in delivering employability training for Foundation Learning students.

• Provide in-work job coaching.

• Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external support agencies throughout the learner’s journey.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with young people with SEND or additional learning needs

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Ability to build rapport with students, families, and external partners

• A proactive, flexible approach and a commitment to inclusive education

• Level 2 English and Maths  

• NSPCC Safeguarding for 16 - 25 Year olds

• BASE qualified for in work support
