Career Coach - Foundation Learning

37 hours per week / 40 weeks per year

£24,653 FTE / £21,544 Actual

We are currently looking for a Career Coach in our Foundation Learning Team. This is a fundamental role that requires the successful candidate to work with our learners to find meaningful employment opportunities, supporting our ‘Careers not Courses’ approach within Newbury College.

You will have the following:

  •  A minimum of Level 2 (GCSE) English and Maths or equivalent
  •  BASE qualified for in-work support or extensive industry experience
  •  NSPCC Safeguarding for 16-25 year old training
  •  Experience of working with young people or adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  •  Experience in a customer facing role
  • Good communication skills
  •  Ability to relate to a range of individuals involved in work placements
  •  Knowledge of and commitment to equal opportunities
  • Influencing skills
  •  Coaching skills
  •  Organizational skills
  •  Full clean driving licence with Business Insurance

It would also be desirable if you have the following:

  •  First Aid qualification
  •  L3 Teaching qualification and/or L3 IAG
  •  Capability for ‘Train the Trainer’ tasks
  •  Experience of learners accessing work experience
