Academic Support Assistant

18 hours per Week / 36 Weeks per Year

£8,509 Actual (£22,245 FTE)

If you are passionate about helping students with additional needs and ensuring they have a positive and supported learning experience, then a career as an academic support assistant could be the right choice for you.

 As an academic support assistant your primary responsibility will be to make education inclusive to students with additional needs. You will work in conjunction with teaching staff to provide support on an individual or small group basis. The nature of this will vary considerably according to the unique needs of each individual student or student group.

The successful applicant will have;

• Level 2 English and Math’s

• Experience of working with young people or adults with mild to moderate learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

• A qualification in care or learning support.

It would be beneficial if you also have;

• A First Aid qualification

• Worked in Further Education

• An understanding of Autism
